Guy Ziv started The Rain Gutter Specialists after working for a local gutter company, where he noticed that most homeowners worried gutters would spoil the look of their house. His fix was to treat the gutter as part of the design: more profiles, more colors, copper where it earns its keep, and corners nobody has to apologize for.
Twenty-plus years on, the company has installed gutters on everything from Valley ranch homes to TV sets. The crew is licensed, bonded and insured, the price is in writing before work starts, and old gutters are hauled away and recycled.

The factory on wheels: five steps, usually one day, one crew from the first measurement to the last sweep of the driveway.

The gutter machine lives in the van. Flat coil goes in, a seamless gutter comes out, cut to the exact length of each wall, whether that's 15 feet or 50.

Most installers cap corners with a separate piece, which adds three seams. Ours are cut and joined by hand, so the line stays clean and there's less to leak.

No nails through the face of the gutter. Aluminum Hangfast hangers screw in behind the lip, out of sight, and make future adjustments painless.

Most homes are finished in a day. The old gutters come down, get hauled away and recycled, and the driveway looks like we were never there.
A standard corner is capped with an extra piece, which adds three seams and a bulky joint. Our installers cut and join each corner by hand. Drag the line to compare.

Daniel from North Hollywood called after water started seeping into the walls of his home. The house had no rain gutters, and over a series of storms the runoff did the damage: mold, bubbling paint and drywall that had to be replaced.
Gutters collect the water at the roof edge and send it down a downspout and away from the walls and the foundation. Daniel's advice to other homeowners: don't wait for the damage to install them.

“A rain gutter is not a pretty product! Most of the customers I met were concerned the gutters would ruin the appearance of their beautiful homes.”

The price depends on the total length of the runs, the material (aluminum, copper or bonderized steel), the profile, the number of corners and downspouts, and whether old gutters need removing. The Rain Gutter Specialists measure your home for free and give you the price in writing before any work starts. There are no hidden fees: the price quoted is the price you pay.
Sectional gutters come in pre-cut 10-foot pieces joined together, and every joint is a place that can leak or pull apart. Seamless gutters are formed on-site from a coil of metal and cut to the exact length of each wall, so a 50-foot run is one piece with no joints along it.
Most residential gutter installations are finished in one day, including removing and recycling the old gutters and cleaning up.
Most shingle roofs in Los Angeles use 5-inch gutters. Tile roofs, large roofs and steep roofs that shed a lot of water often need 6-inch gutters to handle the overhang and the volume. The estimator sizes the gutter to your roof during the free visit.
Check that the contractor holds a California license that covers gutters (a C-43 sheet metal or D-24 classification), read their reviews and ask for a written scope and samples. The Rain Gutter Specialists hold CSLB license #931397, which you can check on the CSLB website.
